This blogging thing can be a bit of a solo journey. You write posts each day and they go out into the ether. Most times this is a pleasant process... but sometimes it feels like you're writing into a void.
And then the void speaks back ... It's awesome.
I got the following email today:
I've been enjoying what you've been writing lately, no matter how short the blog posts are. I'd really be interested in reading a more lengthy version of Time is the Enemy when you have a chance.
Also, I've been meaning to write to give you big props for giving your operations folks some kudos a couple weeks ago.
Anyway, keep them short if you have to, but keep them coming.
Adam
Thanks for the encouragement Adam. I'll be sure to write more on the enemy time....post coming soon.
Andy,
I too enjoy your blog and wish most pieces containted a little more depth to really get into the thoughts behind the decisions and the tradeoffs.
However, I am skeptical "Adam" is a distant admirer. Why would someone appreciate that you gave kudos to your ops folks? Because he is one of them (or closely related). Why would someone care most about your "Time is the Enemy" post when you have so many other posts of broader relevance? Because they have a vested interest in knowing when your money runs out or when your VCs pull the plug.
I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Actually, Andy, I've really enjoyed your posts as well, and I'll leave the skepticism at the door -- but, I too would like some deeper thoughts from you on 'Time as the Enemy" -- now that I'm starting a company, I feel a much greater sense of urgency to use all of my time efficiently -- would love to learn from your experience.
